Set up and use Inspecta Copilot

Inspecta Copilot adds voice-to-finding routing, photo captions, findings drafted from photos, SOP completeness checks, and buyer summaries to the field writer. Here is how to turn it on and what each feature does.

  1. Step 1

Add Inspecta Copilot to your plan

Inspecta Copilot is included on Scale. Solo and Team users add it for $39/mo under Account → Billing → Add-ons. It activates immediately after billing confirms.

  2. Step 2

    Expand: voice-to-finding routing

In the field writer, hold Voice and describe what you see. When you release, tap Expand. The AI splits your transcript across the correct systems and components, matches phrases to your narrative library, and fills the finding form. Review and confirm — nothing saves until you approve it.

  3. Step 3

    Ask: answers from your library

The Ask button in the writer answers questions using your narrative library and checklist, not a code book or generic knowledge base. Use it to check your own notes mid-walk without leaving the inspection.

  4. Step 4

    Caption from a photo

After you take a photo, tap Caption. Inspecta Copilot describes what the camera sees in one or two sentences. It does not diagnose defects or invent conditions. Review the text, edit if needed, then Attach — or Accept caption on an existing photo. Nothing prints until you approve it.

  5. Step 5

Draft a finding from a photo

On a loose photo, tap Draft from photo. Inspecta Copilot suggests a title, comment, and rating from what is visible, then matches your narrative library. Use draft only after you check it. If the photo is a data plate, it hands off to Read plate instead of inventing a defect.

  6. Step 6

    Data plate scan

Point the camera at a mechanical data plate (HVAC, water heater, panel). The writer reads brand, model, and serial number and fills those fields. Works best with good lighting and a steady hold.

  7. Step 7

    Summarize a room

On a section in the writer, tap Summarize room. Inspecta Copilot reads up to six photos from that stop plus the findings you already wrote, then drafts a 2–4 sentence room note. Apply it, then edit the textarea — it prints under the section heading. It does not invent defects that are not in the photos or notes.

  8. Step 8

    Buyer summary

Open Preview to review before you publish. Inspecta Copilot auto-fills In plain language from flagged findings. Edit the text, or keep the standard list. Generate report is what prints it — Review does not publish on its own.

  9. Step 9

    SOP completeness check

If your template has required SOP captures (photos or notes marked required in Report look), the writer highlights missing items in the path before you publish. Inspecta Copilot does not change which items are required — that is set in the template.
